What brought you into lending and to Recognise Bank?
I’ve always been interested in working with businesses, and banking just felt like the right fit from early on. I joined Recognise Bank because I was seriously impressed by how far the team had come so soon after getting their banking licence, I wanted to be part of that journey.
What do you love most about working with brokers and SMEs?
Helping businesses achieve their goals never gets old. It’s always a satisfying moment when a loan completes and you know you’ve played a role and helped a business grow.
What makes a deal stand out to you?
The more complex, the better. I love getting stuck into deals that really challenge you, where you have to think creatively to structure them. Getting those over the line always feels like a big win.
One piece of advice for businesses considering bridging lending?
Take time to get to know your lender. There are a lot of bridging lenders out there, but not all can deliver on what they promise.
What’s the most rewarding part of completing a deal?
Completion day. That last-minute scramble to get everything sorted and the funds out, it’s high-pressure, but incredibly rewarding.

Travelling, without a doubt. I like to get away as often as I can.
